When Shauntee approached me about a Trash-the-Dress session a while back I was ECSTATIC; it’s something I’ve wanted to photograph for a while but had not yet had the chance. After a few months and countless facebook messages brainstorming ideas, we settled on a paint-filled water balloon fight.AMAZING, I KNOW!
She also asked me – since she didn’t exactly have the greatest experience with her actual wedding photographer – if we could stage some posed shots of she and her husband, Sean. Of course I was game, especially with our picture perfect location at the Grist Mill in Sudbury, MA. Though they have been married for a year they still looked and acted just as happy and in love as if it was their actual wedding day.
After some fun formals we went to a new location and the trashing began! They had a blast whipping the balloons at each other and I was happy to capture those sensational splashes and facial expressions. After dousing his wife with water to get the worst off, Sean escorted Shauntee into the pond which turned out to be the most incredible background….it looks like we were shooting in a studio!
