Though lately it seems like everyone I know is either pregnant, trying to get pregnant or has just given birth, there are still those of us (myself included!) that are lounging comfortably at the other end of the spectrum. No kids. Not now, maybe not ever. We are content with our spouses and what little social life our jobs allow; the only little feet that will pitter-patter on our floors are those of our beloved dogs – our four-legged children. So when Allison and Doug requested a “family portrait” I had an idea of what they were looking for. On a splendid October morning in Jersey City I snapped some shots of the two and their precious baby, Arthur. From their apartment with AMAZING light to the quaint park down the street, this classically modern couple created a look and feel that was truly them. They were such good sports, Allison even offered to pose for a shot for the next show at my photography gallery, The Gallery 13 which will feature the female form with proceeds going to a local cancer charity. August 21, 2010 I had the honor and privilege of photographing Ivana and Erin’s wedding at the tres magnifique Sofitel in downtown Philadelphia. These radiant women were more than excited to celebrate their union with their fifty closest friends and relatives; and I was more than proud be there to capture it. Their amazing dresses not only fit them perfectly but also complimented each other and stood out from the crowd!
During their sincere and emotional ceremony I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house; I even found myself blinking back tears! Then, while their guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres in the Toulouse room, we took to the streets for some shots of the happy couple. Though same-sex marriage is not accepted by all Americans, it didn’t faze these two stunners one bit. It was so satisfying to see them snuggling, canoodling and whispering sweet nothings as passers-by stopped in their tracks to say how gorgeous they were. People applauded them on their marriage, cars honked their congratulations, and one guy almost crashed his bike because he couldn’t take his eyes off of them!
Back in the Paris Foyer, Ivana, Erin and their guests were some of the best partiers I have ever encountered. They chatted, danced, sang and laughed all night long; Ivana even serenaded her new wife with an acoustic rendition of one of her favorite Keith Urban songs which ended with thunderous cheers and applause from her audience. I have to say that this was one my favorite weddings I have ever photographed. The genuine love these two women felt for each other seemed to reverberate through the city, the pride of their families and friends was almost epic and matched only by my own pride to be there. It gave me the opportunity to support a cause that I so strongly believe in, and I hope I have many opportunities after this to do the same. Equal Rights=Love.

Great shots Alix! What a fun couple!
Found you through the Betties and when I came to your site greeted by this stunning beautiful couple. The portraits of them are gorgeous! Love the one on the stairwell.
My girlfriend and I were awestruck by these photos. Although I don’t know Ivana and Erin, I couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and happiness for them. In hopes that they see this, all I have to say is YOU GO LADIES! The two look magnificent and you did an amazing job with this shoot. Favorites: the staircase and dancing shots. Alix Passage: Capturing Life and Love, One Snap at A Time. Thank you for sharing. BRAVO!
Melissa and Craig’s wedding in Galloway, NJ was my first of the season, and what a great way to kick things off! These easy-going college sweethearts were more interested in sharing their commitment with their friends and loved ones than anything else. They were fun-loving, carefree and knew how to throw a rockin party! With the help of Allie Love from A.Love Photography we captured some great images and had a ball doing it.
Unfazed by anything that day, our bride Melissa was relaxed but in high spirits, even with the gale force winds whipping against the windowpanes! A stunning natural beauty, Melissa wore a vintage style fishnet veil secured with a decorative flower; her dress fit her like a glove and I couldn’t help but comment that she looked like a model!
With all of the formalities out of the way, it was time to finally party! After a lovely first dance together, and two sweet and emotional parent dances and speeches, the electricity on the dance floor was fully charged for the remainder of the night. Melissa was a terrific dancer and used her dress to it’s full capacity; paired with the DJ’s lights it made for some amazing movement in her photos! What a fabulous wedding to start the season, and a wonderful couple to have met in the process. You rock, Melissa and Craig!
